    Description

Winner of the Judges Special Award at the Texas Furniture Makers Show and the People's Choice Award at the Port Aransas Boat builder show, what better way to take the Final Voyage and honor a distinguished friend or family member than a Phoenix Boatworks Canoe Caskets . It's the last boat you'll ever need! Use it as a pair of bookshelves until that last adventure .....
This is a fully handcrafted wood strip Canoe Casket by Phoenix Boatworks . (.com, of course)
You have one last chance to make your mark on the world, to leave one last impression to your friends and family, to be remembered for one last thing.
When it's time for the "Final Voyage" do you really want to be just stuck in a box?
This is of all wood construction, no metal fasteners hold this together.  If you are of the Jewish faith then this would be Kosher.
The main hull is made from Pink Cedar with American Walnut and Maple Accents with the classic faired shape of the canoe gunnel also in American walnut.  The top cover (the surfboard) shows off again the beauty of American Walnut with Maple running down the keel line.  Pink Cedar wraps the top cover showing that classic curvy shape known for canoes and surfboards.
As a casket for the funeral and at the viewing the full length of the canoe is achieved by attaching the bow and stern sections using wooden dowels and wooden bolts.  This can either be a open or closed casket for burial or cremation.   A wood strip top cover is attached using handcrafted 1/2 inch wooden bolts, I call this the surfboard.
The option of using 6-8 pall bearers is available by using the self contained/stored carry bars, the "landing gear"  and mesquite carry handles.
Another included option is using the casket as a bookshelf until the time of the Final Voyage comes.  Why wait for someone else to decide for you on how you are going to go?  Use your investment for years and years topside before using it eternally in the end.
Much more info, photos, videos are available at Phoenix Boatworks website and on the Facebook page under Phoenix Boatworks Canoe Caskets

Out of all the options I found this to be the cheapest and safest method.

    3) You pick up at the factory location, South Padre Island, Texas or at one of it's display locations.
Greyhound Freight (Bus) and uShip.com are also options to consider if you want to handle shipping yourself.
note: the main photo is of the canoe casket for sale, the associated photos could be of other models but it shows and describes the various features and function common to all.
