Florsheim Imperial Patrician 443276, 93652, 10C:
The "wrap around", "full boaters", "budapest" wingtip shoes of which Florsheim is most famous for, was ubiquitous among "bankers, doctors, lawyers and such", but was also the shoe that 1950s hip guys with duck tailed grease haircuts in jeans, tee shirts with a rolled up pack of cigarettes in the sleeve wore. . . Not sneakers, , but full boat wingtips. Hey, I am old enough to remember it as a kid.
Fast forward from the 50s to 1970 when fashion was in upheaval; influenced by The Robert Crumb cartoon, comic of "keep on truckin" which would lead to the excesses of the 70s with bulbous shoe styles, wide lapels, wide ties, garish color, plaids and outrageous bell bottom
ed slacks and trousers.
The shoes on this site was an attempt at Florsheim to get into this younger market with this shoe design, the shoe has a bulbous toe box, and appears less formal in finish and has shoe lace grommets. the finish is reportedly hand rubbed and burnished for a somewhat mat finish, and looks great with todays jeans and slacks. And the roomy toe box makes for a very comfortable wear.
This shoe is rare because it was only in production during the early-mid 70s because the loyal clientele never accepted it and it never made an inroad to the younger market. ( see photo comparison, above)
This pair has not been used that much, they don't appear as having been worn in the wet, the inner sole and liner is not overly sweat stained or overly dark, (no odor or mildew) the original v-cleat is intact and the heel appears about half worn down. the uppers are near perfect, no damage.
The size is a perfect 10C. Interior length-11". . . interior width at ball of foot about 3 7/8"
